Zesty Lemonade

Extremely refreshing, with a complete and intense lemon flavor, encompassing the peel to the pulp. Quick and easy to make, this will be your go to summer drink to quench your thirst, cool and nourish your body.

I love the fabulous smell of lemon, it is so uplifting and de-stressing. I wanted to have a lemonade with both the taste and the smell of lemons, but without any bitterness. That’s why I fought about the combination of lemon zest and juice.

Did you know that the lemon peel has more nutrients than the lemon juice? It is packed with a high content of antioxidants including flavonoids, phenolic compounds and vitamin C. Antioxidants can prevent cellular damage, therefore reducing the risk of disease. D-limonene, also found in the peel, gives lemons its characteristic aroma, showed anti-inflammatory, wound healing and anticancer properties in laboratory studies.

Rich in citric acid, lemons may prevent kidney stones. They are an excellent source of vitamin C containing more than half of your daily dietary needs. Vitamin C may help improve your iron absorption, support collagen production and boost your immune system. Lemon juice also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

You should also try the fluffy and moist Morning Glory Muffins, which are made with lemon zest and orange juice.
